This is totally narcissistic, but really, what about a blog isn’t narcissistic? In no particular order, here are my Top Twelve, in random order, favorite posts of this past year.
It’s been quite a year my friends. I whole-heartedly look forward to spending more time with you in 2011. Here’s to art, yoga, vegetables, breathing, rocking and rolling and running in the year to come!
Sláinte/Namaste,

Or: HAPPY CHRISTMAS!
Wishing you all a magical holiday filled with: happy moments, warm embraces, sparkling conversations, infectious laughter, scrumptious treats, whimsical merriment and festive libations!
Here they are chums: my top 5 all-time favorite Christmas songs. Because it’s ok to rock out on Christmas.
5. Fairytale of New York (The Pogues with Kristy McColl)
4. Do They Know It’s Christmas (Band Aid)
3. Dominick the Italian Christmas Donkey (Lou Monte).
There’s another video that is waaaay cuter, but the song is shortened.
2. Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth (David Bowie and Bing Crosby)
1. Santa Claus is Coming to Town (Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band)
Happy Christmas Eve, friends!
For fancy cocktails and fun friends! Behold: The Sidecar. Currently at the elegantly saucy, prohibtion era inspired Employees Only. There was a run when we were regulars at this place. Clearly you can see how that might become dangerous. Albeit, *delicious*. Let the reveling commence.
Grim sounding post title, no? Don’t worry, I’m not overly morose or on a ledge. I’ve been thinking a lot about the Winter Solstice, however. Tuesday was the Winter Solstice for 2010: the shortest, darkest day of the year. Has this week felt particularly dark to anyone else? Me? I’ve felt like hibernating. Not in a sad way, but in a quiet way. Like having toast for dinner and watching old movies. Even the lights weren’t working in yoga on Tuesday.
The days are getting longer now. Did you notice it yesterday? Joke. (small one.) Many ancient religions and cultures believe this time of year holds an intense power. After all, it is through the darkness that we come to light. To renewal and rebirth. Our New Year’s Resolutions are products of that very same thinking. When you look into the darkness, what do you see? When you think of renewal, what do you envision? We are lucky to be beings who have the ability to reflect. During these dark days, reflect and spend time in the introversion. It’s good for us. It lets us see the walls, rise above them, and plunge into lightness with strength and a reinvigorated spirit.
So, here, reflections, albeit random ones, of the week:
With all the reveling, carousing, shopping, gavone-ing, tippling, etc., it’s easy to go on autopilot. Yet, let’s stop for a mo and listen. What’s speaking to you this week?
Sláinte/Namaste,
e.m.
P.S.: Happy Christmas Eve Eve my friends!
