I cannot believe this day is upon me. Today is my last day at work! It is a lot of things at once: exciting, nerve-wracking, sad, scary, liberating, bizarre…. I am energized to be taking the leap. New job, new schedule, time to really dig my heels in and write, but I have to say I am a little bummed. I have met some phenomenal people working here. Even though I will not miss making binders until 4:30 in the morning, I will genuinely miss my team’s camaraderie and laughing in the midst of the most stressful of trial moments. It will be odd to be working alone, to not have the email banter or family dinners. Leaving, though, is the right move. Trying to make it, like paying rent really make it, as a writer and an academic is scary, but it’s go time. I’m ready to rock and roll. And on that note:

Congratulations on your new move,I wish you all the best but where are you going? imissed something somewhere love brig
Sing it, sister! That makes two of us working to make a living with our pens on our own terms. And although it won’t be easy, the Stones really do sum it up perfectly.
I love that we’re both taking the leap, Kiki. Congrats and luck to you as well… Let’s start a collective.
